Health in Asia

Medications:  If you plan on bringing medications with you, carry them in their original containers with the original labels. If carrying syringes or needles be sure to have a physician’s letter documenting their medical necessity.

Mosquitos can carry malaria and dengue fever.  Make sure to use repellent in the evenings and try to cover your skin especially if you are in the jungle or on an island.

Check for bed bugs, they can be anywhere and everywhere even in a five star hotel.  Know how to look for them and what to do if you see them.  Read more information on my trip tips.

Water:  The tap water is not safe to drink. Use bottled water even to brush your teeth.

Click Here for a user friendly website on vaccinations for Asia. This website will tell you what vaccinations you may need depending on the specific country you will be visiting.

Visit a doctor 4-8 weeks before departure because some vaccines won’t take into effect until 2 weeks after the shot.
